Apprenticeship Program

Responsibilities

  • Generate new ideas about Suicide Prevention

  • Critique and “challenge” the Projects successes and growth points

  • Research 

  • Manage media/ Spread the project to schools/ sports/ recreation/ churches

  • Seek new opportunities for speaking and promotion of the project

  • Attend board meetings (monthly)

  • Meet (occasionally) with the Adult Board of Directors

Time Commitment

  • 6 month period before being promoted to the Student Board

  • Two hour meeting once a month 

  • Minimum of two events per year (Academic Year)

Requirements/ Eligibility

  • Must be 13 to 17 years old

  • Must be a resident of Colorado

  • Must be free from self-harming behaviors for a period of 90 days or more ( or N/A)

  • Must be free from drugs/ alcohol use behaviors for a period of 90 days or more  ( or N/A)

  • Must be able to have hard conversations 

  • Must be able to provide a reference letter from an adult leader

  • Must have Parent or Guardian Consent form signed

  • Must complete an interview with another student board member
